German Shepherds are Family Dogs
by: Donna - dog-beds-n-beyond.com

Hi Donna,

German Shepherds love to be close to their families, but they are very wary of strangers. This breed needs his family and should not be left alone for extended periods of time.

Most German Shepherds have protective instincts toward strangers. They need extensive exposure to friendly people on a daily basis (walks each day) so they learn to recognize normal behavior of the "good guys." They can then recognize the difference when someone acts abnormally. Without careful socialization, they may be suspicious of
everyone and may become fearful of strangers.

Also, accept the fact that this may be your dog's personality. As with people, basic character does not change - but it may improve. If you need more help, click on this link - German Shepherds
