Dog bathing - How Often

by Roger Martin
(Washington)

How often should you bath a dog? Do indoor dogs require less bathing than outdoor dogs? What about a dog that goes in and out?

How Often to Bath a Dog
by: Donna - dog-beds-n-beyond

Hi Roger,

If your dog is indoors most of the time than you will not need to bath as often. Grooming your dog daily also cuts down on the frequency. So if you brush you dog every day or every other day it will help to keep the coat clean. How often you brush depends on the breed you own. Long haired dogs will of course need more grooming than a short haired dog. You should bath your dog when needed. There is an article on our site dog baths which may be helpful.
