My Shih Tzu Loves the Holidays

Submission by: Cheryl Ketchuck - Regina, Sask

Our Shih Tzu, Bailey loves celebrations, be it Christmas, Easter, Birthdays and Valentines, etc. Giftbags are her favorite, she pulls out the tissue, puts her head into the bag, has a sniff to see if the gift is edible.

From left to right - 11 yr old - Bailey and 4 yr old - Jagr, and 1 yr old Toy Poodle - Mopsa. They are all excited about their venison dinner.

shih tzu and toy toodle

Our pets are pure bred. They have great personalities and love their walks. Bailey and Jagr are very friendly. Mopsa is very timid. They wear jackets and booties during the winter months when we take them out for their walks. Mopsa only goes outdoors whenthe weather is mild.

This breed is the least delicate of the toys. They love being with their family and get along well with older children and other pets. They are outgoing and self-assured, keen and alert and make excellent watch dogs. They do not like to be alone and may become destructive if left alone for extended periods of time. This breed is docile and quiet, but love to play. They are spunky and can be obstinate at times.

Obedience Training in half the time...

"Dogs have given us their absolute all. We are the center of their universe. We are the focus of their love and faith and trust. They serve us in return for scraps. It is without a doubt the best deal man has ever made."
