That was a great story, nursing homes can be a very lonely place for a lot of people. That was great that your dog was able to take the time to go there and visit with not only your friend but all the others that have to be there. Also to include your family, what a blessing to be able to show that love that not many see everyday, being in a place day in and day out with no visitors. I encourage you and your family to continue to pop in at different places if you have the time, it will make their day...

I loved your story; you have quite the knack for pulling the reader into the story line. Your use of adjectives is superior! My favorite passage is:
"Aging hands reached out as Brockton passed by, and he stopped and greeted each delighted nursing home resident. He lifted his soft black jowls up to people, loving them with his soulful brown eyes."
Your loving personality is a gift to all and translates smoothly into your writing. Keep up the good work. My only disappointment was that there wasn't more!
